Jay Johansen Portraits

Printing Method And Quality:

Jay Johansen Studio puts quality first when it comes to the iris printing method. We use the finest quality materials and latest technology for the process.

First, the original painting is photographed professionally, and a large-format negative is created. A large negative ensures that the finished giclee will be as sharp and finely detailed as the original.

Every image is color calibrated under the artist's supervision, and only archival, gallery quality inks are used. The Studio selects the most archival, acid and lignin free canvas with an especially heavy weight so that the color is saturated and rich, and is guaranteed against fading according to the manufacturer's specifications. Each finished giclee is also coated with a clear protective layer as an additional protection for the life of each piece of art. The artist personally signs all giclees, and giclees are a numbered in a limited edition.

About Limited Edition Art:

The signature and edition number is a guarantee that the giclee meets the artist's quality standards, and that the edition will not exceed the number stated. "Johansen, 1/50" means that the artist has approved the reproduction, and that will be the only number 1 ever produced out of the total of 50.

About Artist Proofs:

At the moment, only art galleries may sell Jay Johansen giclees and Artist's proofs. For information about selling Jay Johansen Artist Proofs or originals, please contact Jay Johansen Studio.
